The time is really zipping by. The weeks have added up to 5 months that we've been out. It just seems like yesterday that we were driving across the country to get to Tennessee. Tennessee is such a beautiful place. I've said it before but the only thing that isn't green in Tennessee is the pavement. The blossoms on the trees are all gone now. The Tennessee River that is nearby is beautiful. We see people out all the time boating and fishing when we are on the way to the Mission Office in the mornings.
We celebrated Cecile's birthday this past week. We had a very nice visit from Rob and Bea last Sunday night. They drove up from Athens to pay us a visit and help us celebrate her birthday. What a nice thing to have them that close. On Monday morning we drove over to Pigeon Forge to Dollywood. Mom and I dropped Rob and Bea off then while they were going from rollercoaster to rollercoaster (because it wasn't busy) we went to do some missionary business in Sevierville. I had to install a smoke detector in a couple of missionary apartments. After we finished our business we went back to Dollywood and met Rob and Bea and had some fun together. It rained the rides out so we did some of the inside things there. Then we headed back to Knoxville. On Tuesday morning we had breakfast together and then Rob and Bea were off, back to Georgia.
On Thursday we had to make an emergency trip to Chattanooga to take care of a missionary with a medical problem. While there we installed some more smoke detectors in three different missionary apartments and did an inspection out in a place called Signal Mountain.
Today is Mother's Day and after very nice Church meetings I fixed Mom Sunday dinner. I barbequed some salmon out on the grill over charcoal briquettes (we don't have a gas grill). We've had a nice day and we hope you have too. We wish all of you a Happy Mothers' Day.
Love you all Dad

I just want to thank you for the very nice gift for my birthday, mother's day and father's day. That was a great thought because we don't really have room for much. To use this gift to make a memory of our mission is a good way to take something back without having to pack it. It is hard to believe that we have been out five months. The time seems to be going faster and then at times it seems to be going slow. We are always grateful for the love and support we receive from our children and grandchildren. We pray for each family everyday and ask our Father to answer your prayers.
Love Mom
