Dear Family and Friends
We really felt blessed to be able to be with Susan and her boys for Grayer's baptism. Susan did a great job of making it a special day for Grayer. The day before the baptism was Grayer's birthday and she made that special also. You saw some of the pictures from last weeks blog showing the specialness. I am so grateful for her desire to keep things steady and constant for the boys even when it is totally up to her to keep it that way. She does a great job of parenting which on your own is not easy. We know that the Lord is helping her and others are there is lift some of the burdens when they get heavy.
We enjoyed being with the Gilchrist's and felt it was healing for both sets of grandparents to be toegether to talk about the situation and to just continue to love and support Susan and boys.
We had a chance to attend the temple with Susan and the other granparents tended Finden while Grayer went with his dad to birthday breakfast. It was a priviledge to be the witness couple for that session.
After returning from New York we had to catch up. What made it a little hard was the new office couple the Coburns had to leave the mission to return because his mother had a stroke and was expected to live. So they went home and will be gone for about 11 days. We dad and I have to take their place which means lots more work. Dad didn't get home from the mission office on Friday until 7:00 pm. It has been a while since he hasn't been home at dinner. He use to do that all the time. So dad is doing finances for the mission right now and the medical. I am doing housing and the other things I do.
This week we had two luncheon to prepare and serve to some of the leadership missionaries. We love being with the missionaries. We now know most of them because we have been around them for so long.
We also prepared and taught a lesson in our district meeting. It was on the Savior's earthly ministery. Because of that assignment we read a talk called the blueprint of Christ's church by Elder Tad Callister. It is a great talk about how the New Testament tells exactly whaat Christ's church should look like if you were searching for His church on the earth. Our church matches it. Beacause it is the true church of the earth. The talk can be found in the gospel library app under seminary and institute devotional talks 2014.
Over the week end we attended an adult womean's baptism. She is a communication professor at UT and she wrote her testimony and it was really a neat story of how she came to know the church was true.
I went to visit the art gallary lady Janice and took her a picture of the Savior. The one the church uses alot. She hada customer so I didn't have a good chance to talk to her. I will go back sometime soon.
Dad went with his frined Jim Ford to do meals on wheels. That was good for dad because he got to talk to his friend one on one about the church. These people are potential investigators.
I also read a talk from Elder Bradley Foster conference address April 2015 I think (?) called It is never to late and never to early. It is excellent for parents and grandparents. I recommend it to our family to read.
We took sometime yesterday which was P-day to go over to Pickett State park and see the camp grounds there. Interesting place it was developed in 1930 by a group of young men from all over the country trying to get work during the great depression. The president formed what is called the Civilian Conservation Corp under the military and these young men. Did the work to establish campgrounds and perserve state land for park and recreation. They were paid $30 a month feed and housed by the government or military. They were to send home $25 from there pay check. This wage helped many families that were struggling from no work.
It was fun to see this place. We thought it might be a good place to do a senior activity.

I am reading a new book called We're With You. I really like a chapter called The Temple Grounds by Elder Ballard. This is quote from the book " Satan does not want you to go to the temple or even to stand in the shadow of a temple. He wants you to avoid even getting close to the temple because the temple is the house of the Lord." Then he says' If you choose, you can hear the still small voice of the Spirit in the temple or on its sacred grounds in ways you never will at the mall, in restaurants, and in public places. In fact, you will find that the temple is a wonderful place to receive answers to your prayers.
We miss being able to go to the temple every week. It is a great priviledge to go to the temple. Please take every opportunity you can to be at the temple or on the temple grounds.
