February 28, 2016 Continued
The second part of our outing (after we left the Auto Show) was to drive to Pigeon Forge to see the Dixie Stampede. This was a dinner show put on by Dolly Parton, only Dolly Parton wasn't there. We had some pre-show entertainment--a banjo player, a bass player, and a guitar player and singing. They were really excellent and it was fun. Then we went into the Arena where we had a chuckwagon dinner (food was excellent unlike other chuckwagon dinners we've had) and the show while we were eating. It was a really fun activity that included horses, pigeons, chickens, pigs, Shetland ponies, and buffalo along with Southern Belles, Cowboys, Buckboards, Conestoga wagons, barrel racing, and magic tricks. We had a wonderful time with our new friends in the Mission Office, the Thurgoods and the Simes.
